Moppity Wines - Lock & Key Cabernet Sauvignon

We’ve made a lot of changes to our Cabernets since 2012, both in viticulture and winemaking, with a view to promoting vibrancy and freshness. We’re now seeing the results: Moppity Vineyards entered four teirs of our Cabernets into the Royal Hobart International Wine Show 2015, and we won the only four gold medals awarded out of the 46 wines entered. Such comprehensive success from a single winery is rare if not unprecedented in the Australian wine show circuit.

Moppity Wines - Lock & Key Chardonnay

The Lock & Key Chardonnay is made from fruit grown at our mature, vineyard in Tumbarumba, Southern NSW. Planted in 1993, the vineyard comes highly regarded, largely due to the vast array of medal winning wines it has produced over the years.

Our Lock & Key Shiraz has built it’s own reputation for consistently producing high quality, cool climate Shiraz well above it’s price point. All the fruit is sourced from our high altitude, single vineyard in Hilltops, Southern NSW. We believe a key element of all ‘Moppity Shiraz’ comes from the art of blending small batches of different blocks and clones to produce wines that have a kaleidoscope of flavour and textural profiles. Moppity Wines - Moppity Hilltops Shiraz

This Shiraz comes from an exceptional vintage and has a deep and inky colour, typical of the Hilltops, and the nose offers aromas of dark berry fruits and fragrant spices.The palate is rich and concentrated, with a complex array of blackberry, violet, spice and black pepper flavours, integrated with soft, fine-grained tannins. Cellar up to 10 years.Food match with chargilled, braised or roasted red meats.
